Bill A3701 Call to Action - May, 2007

There is currently a bill in the NJ Assembly, A3701 which would establish a task force to study and make recommendations on allowing motorcyclists to legally lane split when caught in traffic congestion. With most motorcycle engines being air cooled, this would be a great benefit in helping to keep our engines from overheating in hot summer weather.

Your help is CRITICAL in making this possible. ABATE of the Garden State is asking you to contact the 2 representatives in the NJ Assembly to ask them to support this bill.

I am writing this letter to request your support for Assembly Bill A3701. This bill would establish a task force to study allowing motorcycles to ride between lanes during times of traffic congestion.

This bill would not cost the state any money and would actually increase tax revenues through the increased tourism to our shore areas. Many people now avoid going to the shore because of traffic congestion and allowing motorcycles to legally lane split would help both automobiles and motorcycles move more quickly through the congestion.
